COLIN O’BRIEN

Q&A
GN: How did you get your start ?
CB: My mom got me and my brother into theater when I was 4 to help with my brother’s Asperger’s. From there, we got a puppet theater and made up stories for our cast. Later, she bought my brother a behind the camera film/tv class and I loved that experience, so I auditioned for some film shorts and booked them—Then around 2020 I started auditioning for film/tv.
GN: What is your approach to a new character ?
CB: My approach to a new character is always to try and empathize with their experience through mine, and to fill any gaps that exist between them.
GN: How was working with the cast on The Monkey ?
CB: Working with the cast of The Monkey was amazing. All my scenes were with Theo James, who is a giving actor. Oz Perkins has a deliciously dark sense of humor and is a visionary.
GN: What’s your goals in entertainment and in life in general?
CB: My goal in life is to help make the world a better place. I think the entertainment industry can help in this process because we discover more about who we are via art. By finding more meaning, we’re more engaged with others and the world in general.
GN: What does Goodnight mean to you?
CB: If I say goodnight to a friend, it means “be cool,” or “see you later.” If I say it to my family, it might mean “I love you,” or “sleep well” or “sweet dreams.”
