Where Tradition Meets Contemporary Sustainable Fashion

This visual series reimagines the traditional Japanese kimono as a modern fashion expression by pairing vintage garments with living floral elements. By layering the rich textures of time‑honored fabrics with the fresh vitality of plants, the project presents a new visual style rooted in rebirth, ecology, and coexistence with nature.

Set against an urban backdrop, the styling blends the classic silhouette of the kimono with contemporary accessories and materials. This contrast highlights a modern Japanese aesthetic where tradition and fashion resonate together in a refined, forward looking harmony.

Through an upcycling approach, the project gives new value to vintage kimonos and positions them as a form of sustainable fashion for the global stage.
